Against the Wind

Bob Seger es uno de los musicos mas influyentes del Rock - Soul Norteamericano de los 70. Pese a que mas de alguna vez fue comparado con Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger siempre estuvo en constante evolución, obteniendo buenas criticas gracias a exitosos albums.
Despues de una serie de trabajos a principios de los 70, en 1975 Seger graba un nuevo album, Beautiful Loser, para el cual decide reclutar al guitarrista Drew Abbott, al bajista Chris Campbell, al tecladista Robyn Robbins, a Alto Reed como saxofonista y a Charlie Allen Martin, dando origen a la Silver Bullet Band.
Despues del lanzamiento de este album, comienza el rodaje de "Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band", con una serie de presentaciones en vivo. En 1976 aparece un nuevo trabajo, "Night Moves", que llega a estar entre los 10 albums mas vendidos a principios de 1977. En Night Moves destaca la sensacional Mainstreet.
Un nuevo album aparece en 1978, nuevamente con mucho exito, "Stranger in Town", que llevo a Bob Seger a ser uno de las estrellas de Rock mas importantes de EEUU. Pero lo mas importante estaba por llegar.
Bob Seger ya habia obtenido el respeto de la critica, sin embargo le faltaba llegar a la cima, ser el número 1. Esto ocurrio en 1980, con "Against the Wind". El primer album de Bob Seger que llego a lo mas alto del Billboard.
De este trabajo, la canción que le da el nombre al álbum es una de las mas hermosas compuestas por Seger. Una canción que con su base de guitarra acustica, a la cual se van sobreponiendo mas instrumentos, transmite un cierto grado de melancolia que la hace ser muy especial.
