Cuando John Lennon escribio esta canción, jamás penso que sería un himno navideño. En plena guerra de Vietnam, compone una canción que tenía como fin dar animo a todos los afectados por la guerra. Sin embargo, el evidente contenido navideño de este tema, hizo que Happy Christmas (Wart is Over) se convirtiera en un clásico de fiestas de fin de año.
