Roundabout

Probablemente, el grupo mas representativo del Rock Progresivo sea Yes. Este notable quinteto británico logro combinar sus influencias del rock impulsado por The Beatles, con otros estilos como el jazz y la musica clásica.
Luego de 3 trabajos, en el año 1972 abandona la banda el modesto tecladista Tony Kaye, quien no fue capaz de ir al ritmo de sus compañeros, cada vez mas innovadores en el sonido, con complejas estructuras melodicas. La salida de Kaye abrio paso a la entrada del notable Rick Wakeman. Asi, se conforma la formación mas clásica de Yes, con Jon Anderson en voz, Steve Howe en guitarra, Chris Square en el bajo, Rick Wakeman en teclados y Bill Bruford en bateria (mas adelante saldria de la banda y seria reemplazado por Alan White).
La entrada de Wakeman sirvio para dar un nuevo paso adelante en el sonido de Yes. Esto queda demostrado inmediatamente con el cuarto trabajo, Fragile. El virtusismo de todos los integrantes hace que la caracteristica de este album sea la brillantez instrumental. Fragile fue el primer trabajo de Yes en estar entre los 10 mas vendidos tanto en el Reino Unido como en EEUU. Fue lanzado en noviembre de 1971 en Inglaterra y en Enero de 1972 en EEUU, como estartegia para aprovechar la creciente demanda del trabajo anterior de Yes, The Yes Album.
Grandes composiciones encontramos, como Long Distance Runaround, Heart of Sunrise, y la extraordinaria Roundabout. Roundabout fue lanzado como single en EEUU, e inmediatamente se convirtio en uno de los himnos de Yes.
